Geneva To Tignes is one of our most popular airport transfers with multiple buses driving to and from the resort daily throughout winter. It’s a long trip at 3 hours but with guaranteed snow at the end it really doesn’t feel like that much longer and you get to see some beautiful scenery along the way.
The route to Tignes starts at Geneva airport, a large international gateway which is a major source for Whiterides’ airport transfer services. After departing the airport you’ll travel around Lake Annecy, through the Tarentaise valley and up to Tignes via Bourg Saint Maurice. This is the quickest route to Tignes but it’s also very busy and can experience traffic delays at peak times.
At the border between Switzerland and France you’ll need to have your passport ready – although it’s unlikely that you will be asked to show it. Once you’re over the border it’s a relatively easy drive up to Tignes which is surrounded by stunning mountains and glaciers.
Tignes is part of the Espace Killy ski area alongside Val d’Isere and it’s one of Europe’s most famous snow-sure resorts which attracts skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts from across the world. It’s spread over five resort centres with Les Brevieres, Le Lac, Lavachet, Tignes 1800 Les Boisses and Val Claret being the most popular. There is a lot to offer in Tignes and it’s well worth staying in one of the resort’s many hotels or apartments for your skiing holiday.
There are numerous ways to get to Tignes from Geneva, with buses operated by Alpine Fleet, Alpybus and BlaBlaCar. Buses are available at different times and on various days of the week, with more connections operating on Saturday. If you’re planning on travelling at the weekend try to book your Tignes transport in advance if possible, as tickets tend to be more expensive and buses are often full at peak times.
Buses from Geneva to Tignes are generally reasonably priced, with prices ranging from €10 to €25 for a return ticket.
